It's the season again
Yes, it's the time to start the shopping in Tallinn season. This time ten people who had met through Novita-klubi (that's a web site for the people who subscribe to the Finnish knitting magazine Novita published by the spinnery Novita) travelled together to see what the yarn shops had to offer.
Fun was had by all - keep your eyes on Niina's and Kristiina's blogs for more.
Oh, yarn, yes, we did buy yarn. The local wool yarns are lovely, both the solids and the variegated ones, so I decided to get local yarns (even though the summer is coming and I should start the cotton season). This is what I got:
Gotcha!
Actually I got a beer. (That's a rare thing, I hardly ever drink beer and if I do, it has to be Guinness.) That's a dark honey beer and we're enjoying it and the lovely sunny weather on the Peppersack terrace after some serious shopping.
Then to the yarn: I bought orange wool yarn called Maali by Elotroi and because there wasn't that much of the orange available in the shop, I also bought some red and brown yarns. They will be a sweater, or a jacket if there's enough yarn so that I can felt it. I also bought some burgundy yarn because I thought I could make a Sophie.
Mission was easily accomplished: I got all the yarn I wanted from the very first shop Kangas ja Nööp.
I didn't stop there, though. I found some thin variegated wool yarn in the black/grey, brown/orange and pink/violet colourways and some violet tweed yarn. These will be lacy scarves, I think, and possibly socks.
I also got pink/violet unspun yarn after considering it many many times but never getting to actually buying it! That will most likely be a Sophie, too. Or something.
