A cap with a pompon

I made a cap from some 7 Veljestä leftovers. I wanted to try how it looks if the cables are slanted.

The plan changed many times. First I thought of a simple basic cable, 4 stitches wide, but it looked too narrow and I started with 12 stitches and a cable that's a bit different from a basic cable. There are three of them altogether.

The slanting was achieved by increasing one stitch before the purl stitches that are next to the cable and decreasing one stitch after the purl stitches (or vice versa) on every 4th row.

Well, on one hand this cap turned out to be too small for me, but on the other hand (now that the cap is done and all) I can say that had the cap been my size, I probably would have ran out of yarn.
