Aikamatkustajan sukat - Time traveller's socks
Aikamatkustajan sukat valmistuivat jo ennen joulua, mutta sain ne kuvattua vasta nyt. Heittäydyin sohvalle rötväämään ja kuinkas sitten kävikään...

Aloitin sukat kärjestä 10 s lappualoituksella ja lisäsin 16 s:n per puikko. Tuttuun tapaan tein tiimalasikantapään. Varressa aloitin kiilalisäykset toisen valkoisen raidan lopussa, lisäsin ensin kerroksen vaihtumiskohdassa yhden silmukan ja sen jälkeen aina 1 s lisäyskohdan molemmin puolin peukalokiilan tapaan joka kahdeksannella kerroksella, kunnes lanka alkoi loppua. Lopuksi kavensin resoria aloittaessani yhden parittoman silmukan pois ja pidin peukkuja pystyssä, että lanka riittäisi loppuun saakka. Samalla olin myös iloinen siitä, että kaikkia raitoja punaisesta keltaiseen tuli sama määrä.
Ensimmäisen sukan kanssa ei ollutkaan ongelmaa (miksi olisikaan?), mutta toisen sukan kanssa sai leikata ja solmia/päätellä/säätää, jotta siitä tulisi yhtä pitkä kuin ensimmäisestä - raidat eivät tietenkään alkaneet samasta kohdasta ja loppujen lopuksi päättelyä varten sai napsaista jopa pätkän ensimmäisen sukan aloituksesta jäänyttä keltaista lankaa (sukka alkaa siis keltaisen ja punaisen raidan rajalta).
Puikot perinteisesti Kollagen 2,75 mm neliskanttiset, lanka Knit Picks Felici, väri Time traveler, menekki n. 100 g eli pientä punaista pätkää vaille kaksi kerää.
These are basic toe-up socks. I started with 5 sts on each needle and increased to 16 sts per needle. The heel is the traditional short row heel. In the leg I started gusset increases after the second white stripe: first I increased one stitch at the beginning of the round and then two stitches on every 8th round (like in a mitten gusset) until I started to run out of yarn. Then I decreased the one odd stitch and knitted k1, p1 rib and hoped that I would have enough yarn to bind off. At the same time I was happy that there's the same number of stripes from red to yellow.
I had no problems with the first sock whatsoever (well, why should I?) but for binding off the second sock I had to use up all the yellow yarn I had, even the yarn that remained after I cast on the first sock. I knew to expect that since the first whole stripe in the second ball was not red like in the first ball.
Needles traditionally Kollage 2,75 mm square DPNs, yarn Knit Picks Felici in the colourway Time traveler, yardage about 100 g or two balls, only a short piece of red was left.
