Yarn comes to yarn
I Prologue
Workplace cafeteria. Lunchtime.
Marjut (arrives late): It looks like I have three options for the future: 1) I will be bored to death, 2) I will be on maternity leave until my retirement age or 3) I will change my job.
II Confessions
We all know that yarn comes to yarn as there are many kinds of yarn: comfort yarn, sale yarn, tempting yarn, stash reduction yarn, collectively ordered yarn... What you do not know that all of those yarns have arrived here during the last few days and weeks. They roll in to the nearest post office or meet you in the stairs, make you tackle the unsuspecting postman, crawl under the table grabbing your yarn tightly looking around suspiciously and whisper, "My precioussss....." You must know the feeling. Just admit it.
Jaeger Extra Fine Merino Aran and Chunky are from the Cucumberpatch sale. I think I do not have to explain the red Chunky, but look at something rare in this blog: green yarn! It's not that bad a green anyway and because the colour was called Juniper (juniper = kataja, see the connection?). The bad explanations and even worse puns may continue because I have my eyes set on Wendy Fusion, colour Juniper Berry.
Alchemy Synchronicity is from the Get Knitted sale and it arrived here thanks to a knitting pal. It's the She Threw a Brick colourway and it's pink, red, lilac - and it's a silk and merino wool blend. It's here because I'm not able to control myself. It's when you hear the words "sale", "red" and "silk" in the same sentence. Just guess how hard it is to stay away from the Debbie Bliss sale at Stash! Pure Silk... Pure Silk... Pure Silk... Purrrrr... What? Was I blogging? Sorry. Ahem.
As a result of a well-controlled deal, Andean Silk, colour Orange and Shimmer, colour Flower Garden from KnitPicks moved here. Shimmer told me that it wants to be a scarf and Andean Silk wants to be a cabled sweater. Next winter, should I finish the sweater before that, I will look like an orange! Vitamin C for everyone!
Lastly, some exotic and surprising yarn (to us Finns, that is): white Novita 7 Veljestä! It arrived straight from the shadows of the mill, that is, from Anjalankoski, because my mother-in-law noticed that she cannot knit anything from it. There's no catch yet, nor a cat, or at least I haven't been able to find my mother-in-law's cat Takku hiding among the balls yet and I think I don't have to return the yarns in a knitted form either.
III Epilogue
The striped sweater from Novita Bambu is ready and it turned out to be better than I expected. You can see the results in the next Ulla that comes out on June 10th (in case there are no disasters etc etc).
