There's a problem

I joined the stash reduction project Lankahamsterit and now I have a problem. I already poured my heart out in their blog (in Finnish)...

I have a problem. We're going to Stockholm because Jussi wants to buy a book. However, there are lovely yarn shops all around, Anntorps Väv in Gamla stan, for example. I'm not allowed to buy any yarn, though, because then I would be disqualified from the project.

So, should I make someone buy me yarn? (That would be an innocent by-passer, because using my husband is not allowed either and it's not very likely that he just spontaneously buys a skein or two of Colinette.) Should I bribe the manager of the project with silk blends? Should I spend all my money elsewhere, for example in the Science Fiction Bokhandel?

Help! What can a girl do? There's a sudden opportunity and I can't use it!

Should I just break and fill my bags with lovely yarns and think of that as a price in itself? After all, it's been almost a month and I haven't bought any yarn for myself. Maybe if I bought something for my Nordisk Hemmelig Venn? After all, it may take several tries to get the present I have to knit for her just right, you know, it requires testing and many attempts and I'm not sure if I can pick the right yarn or pattern immediately.

I know, it would be better not to buy anything and save the money. It's just that the yarn shops in Finland do not sell Colinette, Noro and other lovely yarns you can find in Stockholm, so I don't get to see and touch those yarns that often.

I wouldn't necessary buy anything anyway but once something is forbidden, it seems even more tempting. You never know if there would be a good bargain or something, like last time the Aracaunia cotton yarn was on sale...

Well, of course there's always the Visa card and the Internet!

I understand completely. I am on a self-imposed, no yarn diet myself at the moment :-) But I recommend that you not purchase and simply start a wish list. Then think of how much fun you can have splurging....you'll have been so good for so long.

Unfortunately in my case the list is getting longer that the undone projects at the moment too many projects and not enough free time.
