Viralliset ja byrokraattiset sukat ovat valmiit. Lankana oli Villa Mokan Mokkasukka, väri Kouvola. Lankaa kului tuttuun tapaan hieman alle 100 g vyyhti.
The official and bureaucratic socks are ready. The yarn was Mokkasukka from Villa Mokka in the colourway Kouvola and the socks took, as usual, slightly less than one 100 g skein of yarn.
Inspiraationa näihin sukkiin toimi kouvolalaista betoniarkkitehtuuria edustava Pohjola-talo, josta löytyy kuva esim. Kuvittelua Kouvolassa -blogista.
Sukat ovat Kouvolassa asuvalle anopilleni. Pituutensa puolesta ne ovat kokoa 38, mutta varmuuden vuoksi hieman löysemmät kuin mitä itselleni tekisin: puikoilla oli 18 s per puikko normaalin 16 s sijaan, joten sukat mahtuvat hyvin myös kokoa 44 olevaan insinöörin jalkaan. Sukkien mallineuleena oli 6 o, 2 n -joustinneule, lisäksi neuloin aina 8 krs välein 2 krs nurin. Kantapää on tavallinen ja kärjessä on nauhakavennus.
The inspiration was a building representing the concrete architecture in Kouvola, Pohjola-talo, of which you can see a photo, for example, in the Kuvittelua Kouvolassa blog.
The socks are for my mother-in-law who lives in Kouvola. They're size 38 but looser than what I would knit for myself. Instead of 16 sts per needle I had 18 sts per needle so the socks also fit to size 44 feet. The pattern is basically k6, p2 rib except that every 9th and 10th row are purled. The heel is the basic one and the toe is the usua wedge toe.
Takun mielestä täällä herjataan aivan liikaa Kymenlaaksoa ja Kouvolaa, sillä Kouvola (nykyinen Kouvola, entinen Anjalankoski) on monien pöyhöisten kissojen koti eikä ollenkaan harmaa ja ankea.
Takku thinks one badmouths Kymenlaakso and Kouvola way too much here because Kouvola (current Kouvola, former Anjalankoski) is the home of many fluffy cats and therefore not grey and dull at all.
